Functioning of the Committee

The G.U. Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Committee examines and decides on the following;

Scientific activities carried out with all kinds of scientific research, activities and thesis studies while in the process of obtaining the title of associate professor or professor by the members of Gazi University and afterwards, in the units of the University or regardless of the relationship with the university, Research projects and all kinds of scientific studies that are carried out in University units and supported by Gazi University Scientific Research and Public funds, Research ethics issues related to all kinds of scientific meetings and events held within Gazi University,

Publication ethics issues related to all publications published or sent for publication in national and international scientific journals, all kinds of visual, audio and written media using the name of Gazi University,

The structure, duties, responsibilities, working style and principles of Gazi University Ethics Committee and Ethics Sub-Committees,

 Ethics Committee application and ethical evaluation processes,

The sanctions to be applied in case of detection of ethical violations.

Allegations of ethical violations in scientific research and publications reaching our university are examined by the Ethics Committee in accordance with Article 4- (1) a-1 of the Higher Education Institutions Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive (ANNEX-1).

All information and documents related to the claims in question are submitted to the Ethics Committee.

Complaints and denunciation appeals regarding scientific research and publication ethics of those other than the candidates applying for the associate professorship exam are evaluated and decided by the higher education institution to which the alleged person is affiliated at the time of the action.

A separate file is opened for each submitted application.

If it is stated in the complaint and denunciation petitions sent to our university that the application process for associate professorship is continuing, the Interuniversity Board Presidency is immediately asked whether the person who alleges ethical violation has an ongoing associate professorship application. In the event that the Interuniversity Board Presidency reports that there is an ongoing associate professorship application, all information and documents related to the allegations are sent to the Interuniversity Board Presidency.
